Science club booming at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre
This year has seen the introduction of an informal science club at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre at Castle Hill.
Children aged 8 years and up are now able to come to the Powerhouse Museum Collection Stores to participate in science experiments with like-minded kids. The weekly sessions have kids running their own experiments with guidance from a one of the Fizzics educators. Often run with simple materials, the experiments are highly engaging are designed to so the children can repeat the experiment at home.
Students often need extension from normal school activities and comments from parents of attending kids are highly supportive of the project. Already we are receiving interest from libraries and private businesses to see how we might partner with them to run the club at their site!
